Scott Hewicker: King of Kings

King of KingsScott Hewicker has made a tremendous donation to Arcadia 2007. It’s a major work called King of Kings. The painting was featured at “We Are Electric” at Deitch Projects in New York. It’s in 3 panels and the overall size is 8 feet by 12 feet. It’s a very special piece that will require a special home. This would be a perfect signature piece for one of the many big Tech companies in the Bay area. The Arcadia auction provides a great opportunity to acquire a major work of art and at the same time support Friends of the Urban Forest and the urban ecosystem of San Francisco. Do you know a company or an individual looking for a major piece? Have them check out Scott Hewicker and King of Kings.

Arcadia: Artists Celebrate Trees

Paul Madonna's Plum BlossomThis is the third time we’ve done Arcadia, an art auction conceived and run by artists for the purpose of raising a significant monetary contribution for Friends of the Urban Forest. The inspiration of the event was a discussion about Joseph Beuys7,000 Oaks project. It’s tough for an individual artist to make a big impact on a city like San Francisco — but if more than 100 artists band together, anything is possible. Friends of the Urban Forest has planted more than 40,000 trees in San Francisco, that’s more than all the trees in Golden Gate Park. And the best part is FUF engages our citizens to take action to give San Francisco all the benefits of a thriving urban forest.

Please take a look at the Arcadia Web site, and if you can, buy a ticket to the event and buy some art once you get there.
